Compliance & Building Safety

Built on the
golden thread.

The Building Safety Act changed what a credible contractor has to prove. We were built for it — inheriting Gemini AMPM's life-safety discipline since 1997, so the golden thread and audit-ready handover are the default, not an upgrade.

The golden thread, our method

Information that survives handover.

01

Capture

Every design decision, product and certificate recorded from day one — not reconstructed at handover.

02

Coordinate

One accountable team holds the information across all four service lines, on the Group operating stack.

03

Verify

RAMS, method statements and inspection records checked against the audit posture used on Higher-Risk Buildings.

04

Hand over

An audit-ready, structured information set the client and their PQQ teams can actually use.

Accreditations

The accreditations
we operate under.

AMPM Building Services is a young company. Today it operates under the accreditations held across AMPM Group — largely through our sister company Gemini AMPM — rather than in its own name, and sends the full certificate pack with every PQQ response. Our own management systems are in build (below).

Held at AMPM Group level (primarily through Gemini AMPM) — not currently held in the name of AMPM Building Services:

These accreditations are held by AMPM Group / Gemini AMPM. AMPM Building Services operates under them and applies them to projects delivered under the Group’s contracting structure; it does not yet hold them in its own name.

Working towards our own

Our own IMS, in build.

AMPM Building Services is building its own integrated management system (IMS) aligned to ISO 9001 (Quality), ISO 14001 (Environmental) and ISO 45001 (Health & Safety), with the intention of seeking UKAS-accredited certification in due course. AMPM Building Services is not currently certified to any of these standards — until certificates are awarded in our own name, we operate under the Group accreditations above.

Inherited credibility

A quarter-century
of life-safety behind us.

Our sister company Gemini AMPM has protected the South East's most demanding buildings — fire, security and passive fire — since 1997. Employee-owned, with NSI Gold, BAFE, FIRAS and Constructionline Gold among its accreditations.

For Building Services clients, that means the compliance posture, the audit framework and the operating stack are the Group's — not a new contractor's first attempt at them.

FAQs

Compliance questions,
answered.

Are you accredited?

AMPM Building Services works under the accreditations held across AMPM Group — the standards and certifications built over the Group’s 29-year history. We provide the relevant certificates and PQQ evidence on request.

What is the “golden thread”, and how do you maintain it?

The golden thread is the digital record of a building’s safety information — kept accurate and accessible from design through to handover and occupation, as required for higher-risk buildings under the Building Safety Act 2022. We hand over O&M manuals, as-builts and test records as a structured, lasting set.

Do you work under CDM 2015?

Yes. Every project is delivered under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 — with the duty-holder roles, risk management and documentation that demands.

Can you complete our PQQ or pre-qualification?

Yes. We hold capability statements, insurances, method statements, accreditations and references ready for PQQ and pre-qualification submissions to Tier-1 main contractors and direct clients.

How do you handle fire and building-safety compliance?

Fire-stopping, compartmentation and envelope works are installed and recorded to support compliance with Building Regulations Part B, BS 9999 / BS 9991 and, for cladding, BS 8414 / BR 135 — with traceable records for the building’s safety case.

Which areas do you cover?

We work across London and the South East — including Sussex, Surrey, Kent, Hampshire and Berkshire.
