Public estates carry obligations most commercial buildings do not: statutory compliance that must be evidenced, occupied sites with safeguarding requirements, procurement rules that demand transparency, and net-zero targets with fixed funding windows. AMPM Building Services works with local authorities, schools, leisure operators and other public bodies on exactly this kind of work. We deliver mechanical, electrical and public health services, fabric and envelope works, planned maintenance to SFG20 and heat-decarbonisation projects for public estates, including schemes funded through the Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme where the client has secured an award. As a 2026 company we bring current-generation delivery backed by the 29-year record of our sister company Gemini AMPM, and we are open about our position: we set out our accreditation status plainly in every tender — what is held at group level and what is still in progress — rather than leave a PQQ team to discover it. Where required, operatives are DBS-checked, and works around occupied schools and leisure facilities are planned around term times, opening hours and safeguarding protocols.

Scope

  • Heat decarbonisation for public estates — commercial heat pump design and installation, delivered to funded programme requirements including PSDS-funded projects where the client holds the award
  • Statutory compliance servicing — fixed wire testing to BS 7671, emergency lighting, gas and heating plant servicing, water hygiene support and evidenced certification for your compliance records
  • Planned preventative maintenance to SFG20 across schools, leisure centres, libraries and civic buildings, with 24-hour, 365-day reactive cover on 0330 043 0080
  • Mechanical, electrical and public health upgrades — boiler and plant replacement, LED lighting, ventilation to Part F, distribution and containment works in occupied buildings
  • Fabric and envelope works — roofing, facade and cladding repairs and remediation, delivered to the outcome of a competent fire risk appraisal under PAS 9980
  • Fit-out and refurbishment of civic and community spaces — Cat A/B office fit-out, classroom and changing-room refurbishment, phased around occupation
  • Groundworks and external works — drainage, access improvements, hard and soft landscaping across public estates
  • Occupied-site delivery — where required, operatives are DBS-checked; RAMS, safeguarding coordination and out-of-hours working planned with your estates team

Can you deliver PSDS-funded decarbonisation projects?

Yes. Where a public body has secured a Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme award, we deliver the works to the programme's requirements — typically heat pump installations, heating distribution upgrades, LED lighting and ventilation improvements — with the reporting and evidence the funding conditions demand. We are a delivery contractor: we do not administer grants or promise funding outcomes, and we will say so plainly rather than imply otherwise.

Are your operatives DBS-checked for work in schools and similar settings?

Where required, operatives are DBS-checked. For schools, leisure centres and other settings with safeguarding obligations we agree the vetting requirement with your estates or safeguarding lead before mobilisation, and we plan works around term times, opening hours and site protocols. This is an operational commitment we make and manage, not a certification claim.

Are you on any frameworks, and how do you handle prequalification?

We are a new company, established in 2026, and not yet appointed to public frameworks — we are direct about that in every submission. Our tenders set out our accreditation position plainly, including what is held at AMPM Group level and what is still in progress, and they draw on the 29-year delivery record of our sister company Gemini AMPM. We answer PQQs honestly, because public sector evaluation teams verify everything, and so do we.

Can you take on statutory compliance and maintenance for a whole estate?

Yes, for the hard FM scope: mechanical, electrical, public health and building fabric. We build an SFG20-based planned maintenance programme across your sites, deliver statutory servicing with the certification your compliance records need, and back it with 24-hour, 365-day reactive response. We do not provide soft FM such as cleaning or security, so we sit cleanly alongside your existing providers.
