EV charging for London offices, residential blocks, retail and fleet depots: supply assessment, load management, civils and installation, designed to Part S and the borough's parking policy, and delivered in car parks that stay in use.
London has moved faster than the rest of the country on electric vehicles, pushed by the London-wide Ultra Low Emission Zone, borough parking policies that favour zero-emission vehicles, and fleet operators electrifying vans that work inside the zone every day. Building Regulations Part S now requires charge points and cable routes on new buildings and major renovations with parking, and landlords of existing stock are fitting chargers because tenants, residents and fleet customers ask for them. The constraint in London is rarely the charger. It is the electrical supply, the load the building can spare, the basement or podium car park with no easy cable route, and the need to keep spaces in use while the work is done. We design and install workplace, residential and fleet charging with load management so the building's existing supply is used before a costly upgrade, and we handle the civils, containment and switchgear as one package.
Usually, with dynamic load management. The chargers share the spare capacity the building has at any moment and throttle when the building is busy, which for most offices and residential blocks means overnight charging works without a supply upgrade. Where the numbers do not add up we tell you early and handle the UK Power Networks application as part of the job.
Yes. Basement and podium car parks are the normal London case. The design covers cable routes and containment through the structure, fire-stopping at compartment lines, ventilation considerations, and the fire strategy implications, which on residential blocks may need the building's fire engineer to review.
AMPM Building Services does not currently hold OZEV authorisation, so installations funded under OZEV grant schemes are not our market. Our work is commercial, residential-block and fleet charging procured directly by landlords, occupiers and operators, designed and installed to BS 7671 Section 722 and the IET Code of Practice.
You choose. We install to open protocols so the back office and payment provider can be the one you prefer, and changed later without replacing the hardware. We can maintain the installation under a planned maintenance contract alongside the rest of the building's electrical services.
A named contact, not a sales team, comes back within 24 hours. Include the package, programme and stage if you can.
